Richard worked with us regularly here at the Northern Music Acadamy for several years. Now a composition Lecturer at Leeds College of Music. Since graduating from Leeds College of Music in 2009, Richard Petch has performed around the globe as both a vocalist and guitarist . Richard continues to perform a variety of music in theatres across the UK and Europe, and currently focuses on the creation of original music. He has received critical recognition as a songwriter, including winning Leeds Bright Young Things (2008). His music has received BBC radio play through its ‘Introducing’ platform, and continues to gain exposure.

Richard’s extensive teaching experience covers varied ages and abilities and includes singing, songwriting and composition, and ensemble performance, in addition to one to one guitar and vocal lessons. As a tutor, Richard is keen to inspire and enthuse young musicians, and endeavours to give his students the opportunity and guidance to express themselves musically.
