Adam worked with us regularly here at the Northern Music Acadamy for several years. Now a full time Lecturer at Leeds College of Music, Adam still finds time to stand in at NMA occasionally. Adam has played guitar for over around 15 years, and has taught guitar since 2005, alongside performing in many different bands and ensembles on both electric and acoustic guitar. Throughout this time, studio work, concert venues and Festivals have provided a very practical source of learning to supplement Adams formal studies (ie Music Degree, masters Degree and Doctorate). A background of theatre pit work and function work also serves to make quite a handy contribution to lesson content. Well trained and developed as a professional producer, composer and arranger, Adam draws upon all these elements in his teaching to offer a wide spectrum of invaluable content. Adam’s specialties are diverse but mainly lie in the fields of electric rock guitar and acoustic folk/pop. His acoustic abilities and unique approach to the instrument are of particular interest to many students whilst his ability on electric guitar across the genres of metal, funk, jazz and pop provide an eclectic and versatile teaching experience. Aside from guitar, Adam’s particular expertise is in Music production, work as a professional producer and independent musician can also be incorporated into lessons to help students record their own work, develop their compositional style and learn how to release their own work.
